Hello! I am back with another skincare review! It feels like forever since I wrote a review, but I’m super excited to share my thoughts on the Kate Somerville Goat Milk cream that I have used since last winter till last month of August. I will give you a quick information on the brand and product:
Kate Somerville, the woman behind her own brand is a famous Hollywood aesthetician and trusted skincare expert. According to the company website:
“For Kate, skincare isn’t just a passion. It’s deeply personal. Having struggled with eczema as a child, she knows all too well what it’s like not to feel comfortable in your own skin. After discovering her own skincare solution in the healing powers of goat’s milk, Kate felt a deep desire to help others. Armed with plenty of empathy and passion, she set out to find innovative and effective solutions to specific skin health challenges, a mission that keeps her curious and innovating every day”.

Here are key, highlighted ingredients mentioned and its function:

As stated in the website:
Lactose from goat’s milk soothes and moisturizes dry skin
Natural milk proteins helps reduce skin inflammation and restore the skin barrier
Jojoba and avocado hydrates and conditions skin to improve smoothness
Aloe calms skin
Grape seed oil and vitamin E are natural antioxidants and neutralizes free radicals (unstable atoms that can damage cells leading to illness which causes symptoms that include aging).
My impressions:
I bought the goat milk moisturizer as part of my Fab Fit Fun Winter 2019 subscription box, which I paid $49.99 USD excluding tax for a seasonal subscription. The product itself would have cost $65 USD compared to the FFF box along with a few more other products included. I must say the subscription saved me more money.
Packaging came in a neat box and plastic jar, which was the alternative and sustainable packaging “made of 25% ocean plastic waste collected from the Philippine Sea and Indian Ocean”. The original packaging has a push-down mechanism for hygienic use but both types of packaging are 1.7 fl oz.

I mostly used it during the day and the hydration would last throughout the whole day to evening. The ingredients are also listed in the box:

Here’s the overall look of the recycled plastic jar:
The scent reminded me a lot of the Aveeno moisturizers, kind of strong at first but I got used to it. The smell doesn’t linger after applying and some people may find it unpleasant but I think it’s alright, it doesn’t stink at all.

The texture is pretty watery, yet creamy. The product is very moisturizing, I would suggest to apply light because it can feel a bit heavy especially is you have combination or oily skin.
Swatches of the moisturizer:

The goat milk moisturizer definitely packs a punch of hydration and I LOVE IT! Especially during the winter, I did not have any problems with flaking! I received a second refill of the goat milk which I’m very happy with and ready for the upcoming winter. Here’s a jar that I emptied out:
The jar label is messed up and shifts around overtime. I don’t have any problem with it, I think it happens to most products.
Overall, I love the Kate Somerville Goat Milk moisturizer. I highly recommend it during the winter and not summer because it can be a bit heavy and too moisturizing (if that’s a thing?). The moisturizer does not have SPF and would for sure follow up with a sunscreen. I really like the product and it’s one of my top moisturizers I’ve ever used. The price for the moisturizer alone is pretty hefty I would say, but definitely worth it if you want a really good moisturizer and your skin is super dry like mine. Like I mentioned earlier, I bought the product as part of my Fab Fit Fun subscription and it’s super worth it if you have one and they offer some discounts on other products.
I hope the review was helpful for those curious about the Kate Somerville Goat Milk moisturizer. What’s your current or favorite hydrating moisturizer? Let me know! Thank you so much for reading! Till next time!
